OAC at Grant Park Music Festival: June 17 & 21

Depending on your taste and schedule, join fellow LGBTQ alumni for one or two evenings at Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival on the beautiful Pritzker Pavillion Lawn in Millennium Park! On both evenings, we’ll be congregating near the back (south end) of the Great Lawn prior to the show. Bring your own snacks and beverages. Wine and other alcoholic beverages are permitted provided they aren’t in glass bottles.

“The Magic Toy Shop”
Saturday, July 17
6pm Picnic · 7:30-9pm Concert
Free · RSVP Requested

OAC’s 5th Annual Grant Park concert event! This family-friendly concert’s theme will be “The Magic Toy Shop,” including pieces by Brahms, Britten, and Respighi (details here). We’ll meet and enjoy the show at the south end of the Millennium Park Great Lawn, about 100 feet from the end; we’ll mark the spot with a rainbow umbrella. Please plan to arrive at 6pm to allow time to mingle before the concert begins at 7:30. This is a free event - bring your own blankets, food, and beverages! Please RSVP to Gerry Berstell (gberstell@post.harvard.edu) if you plan to come, so we can reserve adequate blanket space. Thanks to Gerry (Harvard HGLC) for organizing!

“Planet Earth Live”
Wednesday, July 21
7:30pm Picnic · 8:15-10pm Concert

If you’d prefer an after-work concert instead, the University of Chicago LGBT Alumni invite OAC to join them for an installment of BBC’s “Planet Earth” documentary set to a live symphonic score (program details here). Look for the University of Chicago LGBT Alumni banner towards the back of the Great Lawn starting at 7:30pm, with the show starting at 8:15pm. An assortment of snacks will be provided.
